Effective Heavy Quark Theory
We show how heavy quark effective theory, including 1 MQ corrections, may be matched onto dynamical quark models by making a specific choice of Kμ,m and vμ in the pμ = mvμ + Kμ expansion. We note that Wigner rotations of heavy quark spins arise at O(p2/m2) in non-relativistic models but at O(ΛQCD/MQ) or O(velocity − transfer) in HQET and so are necessary for a consistent treatment. متن کاملHeavy-Quark Effective Theory
We give an introduction to the heavy-quark effective theory and the 1/mQ expansion, which provide the modern framework for a systematic, model-independent description of the properties and decays of hadrons containing a heavy quark. We discuss the applications of these concepts to spectroscopy and to the weak decays of B mesons. Lectures presented at the 34th International School of Subnuclear ...
متن کاملHeavy quark fragmentation functions in the heavy quark effective theory.
We calculate fragmentation functions for a b-quark to fragment into color-singlet P-wave bound states c̄b in the Heavy Quark Effective Theory with the exact account of O(1/mb) corrections. We demonstrate an agreement of the obtained results with the corresponding calculations carried out in quantum chromodynamics. Introduction. The study of heavy quarkonia properties is a subject of much current...
متن کاملRenormalizability of the Heavy Quark Effective Theory
We show that the Heavy Quark Effective Theory is renormalizable perturbatively. We also show that there exist renormalization schemes in which the infinite quark mass limit of any QCD Green function is exactly given by the corresponding Green function of the Heavy Quark Effective Theory. All this is accomplished while preserving BRS invariance. ∗Alexander von Humboldt fellow.
متن کاملNon - perturbative Heavy Quark Effective Theory
We explain how to perform non-perturbative computations in HQET on the lattice. In particular the problem of the subtraction of power-law divergences is solved by a nonperturbative matching of HQET and QCD. As examples, we present a full calculation of the mass of the b-quark in the combined static and quenched approximation and outline an alternative way to obtain the B-meson decay constant at...
